Bay of Biscay • France

The Bay of Biscay, also known as the Gulf of Biscay in Spain and the Gulf of Gascony in France and some adjacent areas, is a northeastern gulf in the Atlantic Ocean, south of the Celtic Sea. It extends from Point Penmarch on the west coast of France to the Spanish border and from Cape Ortegal on the north coast of Spain westwards. Locally, the Cantabrian Sea is used to describe the southern part of the Bay of Biscay, which runs along the northern coast of Spain.
