Turkey's Aegean coast spans from Istanbul in the north to the city limits of Marmaris in the south. The picturesque tiny resorts located along the shoreline, often known as the west coast, were once fishing communities and are now famous tourist destinations. Beaches like Pamuk are popular, and there are many things to do there, but it is best known for being home to the ancient city ruins of Ephesus and the Virgin Mary's dwelling.
