Rias Altas • Spain
The estuaries of northern Galicia overlooking the Atlantic are A Corua, Ares and Betanzos, Ferrol, Cedeira, and Ortigueira. A Corua and As Marias, urban and mundane; Ferrolterra, enlightened and with a touch of the wild; A Corua and As Marias, urban and mundane. A Corua is a pleasant city to meander through, with museums and, of course, the Roman lighthouse of the Tower of Hercules, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The monumentality of Betanzos' historic center is astonishing. The Pazo de Marián, with its gardens along the sea, is also on the Camellia Route.
