Between Baiona and Fisterra, the so-called Ras Baixas meet. Vigo, Pontevedra, Arousa, and Muros-Noia are the largest and most consistently distributed estuaries, stretching from south to north. The coastal area of cliffs, oulders, and sharp falls combine with large stretches of sand accessible from land via the road network or from the sea via one of the numerous ports on the island's rocky littoral.
